Turbo Rally Card Racing

Using your own cars, race opponents along card tracks that you create. The cards are expandable so you can challenge unlimited players and build courses as simple or as big as you can imagine. Play is fast and easy for ages 4 and up (8 and up for expanded play option).

DIY Turbo Rally Card Racing Shoebox Ramp

 1. Construct Your Ramp

If you're like us, you have plenty of boxes still hanging around from Christmas! A medium size shoebox works perfectly cut in half diagonally. Cut the long side from the top corner to the bottom corner on both sides then remove the back flap and you're done! We cut the corners off a larger box and then cut a triangle to fill in the empty side (photo below). Sewing pins and masking tape make it easy to hold the pieces in place until the glue dries. Regular white glue works great!

 2. Add Ledges

In order to keep your cards and cars from rolling down the ramp while you play, you'll need to glue on some small ledges. We used 1/8" square balsa wood strips you can find at most hardware stores. They're usually located next to the dowels. Or you can use long wooden matchsticks, strips of cardboard or anything else you have lying around that fits the bill. Glue them horizontally up your ramp spacing them evenly at least 4" apart.

 3. Paint

Once the glue is dry you're ready to paint your sweet new ramp! We went with a dirt jump look using Rust-Oleum American Accents STONE Finish.

 4. Start Racing!

Once the paint is dry your ready to build and race your new jump track! Have fun and be sure to post photos for the contest!

TIP: You can place a small piece of tape under your car to help keep the wheels from rolling down the ramp. And for a Stoplight, we hang the front wheels off the ledge for the "wait here" position.
